Need help planning your party?!?

My awesome cousin Traci is one talented lady!  She has always had a love for party planning, and now she wants to share her talents with everyone!!  Check out her blog, Party Vision, to see some of her amazing work!!  Whatever kind of party you have in mind, she will help it come to a reality!!

(Another) Toy Story cake!

I was so excited when a friend from work asked me to make a Toy Story cake for her son's birthday!!  I knew I had to out-do myself from the first one I had done, so this is what I came up with!  Jaxson's favorite character is Buzz Lightyear, so I wanted to make sure Buzz was part of the spotlight.  I have to confess, as big as the cake is, my favorite part is the little cardboard box on the side with Ham sticking out of it :)

Update!

It has been way too long since I've posted!!  Apologies, I was having some trouble uploading pictures for awhile, but I've got it figured out now!  Here is a quick update of some of my latest creations....

I
My new favorite cake!!  A co-worker of my brother gave me the honor of making his wedding cake.  He's had my Red Velvet cake several times, so that was what flavor he requested, along with German Chocolate for the middle tier.  The bride and groom sent me a picture of the bouquet so I could match the color of the ribbon, and they gave me a few extra flowers to place on the cake as well.  Simple, elegant, and very pretty!

Last year I took a trip to New Orleans during its annual Jazz Festival, and completely fell in love with the city!  This year, I decided to bring a little NOLA tradition home and make my very first King Cake.  It was so delicious!  A new tradition for years to come!

This was a cake I did for a mother celebrating her daughter graduating from Full Sail University with a degree in Film Production.

Elvis cupcakes!!  Banana cake, peanut butter frosting, and bacon!

Typical holiday spread!  Cake, biscotti, brie puffs, cake shots, and gingerbread sandwich cookies!

When dinosaurs ruled the Earth!

I had some family in town from St. Louis, and while they were here my little cousin celebrated his 4th birthday.  Clark is totally in dinosaurs, so the theme of his birthday cake was obvious :)  I borrowed some of his dino toys to place on the cake, and it turned out awesome!  To watch his reaction, as well as his little brother's, was priceless!

 Instagram fun :)

I had some cake and frosting left over, so i decided to make some cake balls!
Chocolate cake & peanut butter frosting dipped in milk or dark chocolate with peanut butter drizzle....yummmm!

Toy Story birthday cake!

I've always loved Toy Story, and have kept enjoying it thanks to my 3 year old niece.  So when I got the request for a Toy Story birthday cake, I couldn't wait to make it!!...until I found out I only had 3 days until delivery.  I had just started a new job in a bakery (yayy!!) that week, and wasn't getting home until 7 or 8 o'clock at night, so I had limited hours in the day to work on it.  I decided to ask my customer if they wouldn't mind putting Toy Story action figures on the cake instead of me trying to create them.  They agreed, and they looked great on the cake!  I have to say, this is one of my favorite cakes :)

I wanna ROCK!

I had a very awesome cake request by one of my best friends 9 year old daughter (the same girl who requested a bowling ball cake!)  This year her party was a Rock Star theme, so she had very specific ideas to give to me: musical instruments, zebra print, and bright colors.  Often times, I don't get the chance to stick around for people to admire the cakes, but the reaction of the little girls at her party was priceless!!  Most of the girls didn't even think the cake was real!
I can't wait to see what Delaney comes up for me next year!
